Why Visit Florianópolis?

Florianópolis — "Floripa" to Brazilians — is an island city off Santa Catarina that manages to be a laid-back beach destination, a buzzing digital nomad hub and one of Brazil's highest quality-of-life cities simultaneously. It has the safety of a European city with the natural beauty of a Caribbean island.

The 42 beaches range from wild Atlantic surf to calm lagoon shores. The north is upscale (Jurerê Internacional); the east is surf and party (Praia Mole); the south is traditional (Ribeirão da Ilha oysters). No other city in Brazil packs this much variety into one island.

💡 Best time: December–March is beach season — warm water, packed beaches, premium prices. April–May offers a perfect shoulder season. June–August is cooler but excellent for surfing without crowds.
