Privacy Policy
1. Data Controller
The data controller for personal data collected on this website is InfoBrazil.org, an independent travel publisher operating as part of the InfoPlaces network. We are a private publisher not affiliated with any government body. Contact: contact@infobrazil.org
2. What Information We Collect
Information you give us: Email address and name when you subscribe to our newsletter or download the free guide. Contact form name, email and message.
Collected automatically (with your consent): Anonymized analytics via Google Analytics. Standard server logs retained 30 days. Optional analytics and affiliate-tracking cookies — only active after you accept them via our cookie banner.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To send the content you requested
- To send periodic travel updates (with your consent only)
- To respond to contact form enquiries
- To improve our website via anonymized analytics
We never sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Cookies & Tracking
We use three categories of cookies:
- Necessary (always on): required for the site to function — session, language preference, and your consent state itself. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics (with consent): Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization. Helps us understand which guides are most useful. Stored up to 14 months.
- Marketing (with consent): affiliate click-tracking cookies set by our partner networks (SafetyWing, Wise, Airalo, Booking.com, GetYourGuide) so they can attribute a purchase back to us. Never used for cross-site ad targeting.
You are asked to consent the first time you visit. Your choice is stored for 180 days, after which we ask again. You can change your choice at any time via the Cookie Settings link in the footer, or by clearing this site\'s storage in your browser.
We implement Google Consent Mode v2 with denied defaults — meaning no analytics or marketing cookies fire until you click "Accept all" or enable the relevant category.
5. Affiliate Links & Third Parties
This site contains affiliate links to SafetyWing, Airalo, Wise, NordVPN, Booking.com, GetYourGuide, Skyscanner and similar travel providers. When you click one and make a purchase, the partner pays us a small commission (at no additional cost to you). Third parties may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies.
6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
- Access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you
- Withdraw consent to marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in every email
- Withdraw cookie consent via the Cookie Settings link in the footer
- Data portability — request a machine-readable copy of your data
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@infobrazil.org. We respond within 30 days.
7. Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you believe we have not handled your personal data in compliance with GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority. In the EU, a list of authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu. California residents may contact the California Attorney General\'s Office.
8. Data Retention
Email subscriber data retained until you unsubscribe. Contact form data retained up to 12 months. Server logs retained 30 days. Cookie consent state retained 180 days on your device only.
9. Children
This website is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us and we will delete it.

Who we are
Suggested text: Our website address is: https://infobrazil.org.
Comments
Suggested text: When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
Suggested text: If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
Suggested text: If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Suggested text: Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
Suggested text: If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
Suggested text: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
Suggested text: If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Suggested text: Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
